This home, located in Queens Village of Philadelphia, was in desperate need of some love. The homeowner was on board for a full house remodel, so we worked our way through – from top to bottom. We also did some interior decorating to add the finishing touches. Look below the gallery for more information on this project.

Nearly every room in the home needed reconstruction. We started on the first floor of the home, which required the most attention. The entryway was dull and flat – we decided to install custom wainscoting throughout the entry to really give the narrow space some depth, and followed the installation with fresh paint to brighten the space. The custom wainscoting continues into the living and kitchen areas, which holds an ornamental fireplace that had been beaten down over the years. However, we were able to bring it back to life with a brand new custom mantel. We designed and built this piece in our woodworking shop.

Continuing into the small and cluttered kitchen, there hardly any room for storage, let alone moving around to actually cook! We provided more storage space by building custom cabinetry, including a storage unit with shelving alongside the kitchen wall. To finish up the first floor of this home, we replaced all of the flooring with beautiful hardwood.

After completing the first floor, we moved upstairs to the bedrooms. We knocked out some existing walls with extensive damage, replaced drywall, added chair rails as needed, and finally gave everything a fresh coat of paint. It was also necessary to replace most of the flooring and baseboards in each bedroom. Now it was time to move to the basement, which was unfinished to begin with. We installed drywall and trim, painted, and installed new tile flooring as the finishing touch.

Our goal with this remodel was to uncover the beauty lying underneath the dust. Needless to say, our clients were elated as we completed the final walk-through of their new home.
