This was a personal project of ours. When we first moved into our home, the patio was… small! To say the least. Hardly any room for a grill or patio chairs, let alone entertaining! We decided to extend the patio further into the yard. First, we ripped up the existing garden bed and leveled the ground. We also dug a trench to put in a drainage pipe that would run underneath the extension and prevent pooling. Once the ground was leveled and drainage pipe installed, we started laying the new pavers and garden beds. We decided on installing a raised bed to the left of the stairs, and a floor level bed along the fence portion. Now that it’s all said and done, the new patio accommodates a chair set with a fire pit, a outdoor dining table, AND a grill! The perfect setting for entertaining.
There was a badly damaged fence (barely) standing on its last leg when we got our hands on this patio…
This interior decorating project is a personal one for us – it is our home! We’ve lived in this house for almost 3 years, and have LOVED being able to inject our personal style into the design and really make it home. It’s a constant work in progress!
When we got our hands on this project, the property was a full white-wash, and very closed off. But, in the end it happened to be the best way for us to walk our client through the spaces and visualize our new design ideas.
This project was off to a good start with the home owner having a ready eye for design. First there was the removal of all flooring/carpeting and stair balusters in the home. After that we replaced the flooring with a matte Acacia hardwood.
