This is a project we’ve had to visit often throughout the years. Because this deck is in direct sunlight for most of the day, we were constantly coming back to re-stain. However, the time for repeatedly stripping down the stain and smoothing the surface of this deck was over! We decided to strip it down to the studs this time around, and use Azek decking, which is engineered to look like real wood and known for its durability. Once the new decking was installed, we began to set up the new lighting configuration and install the fixtures. Since this project was completed in 2015, we have not had to return to work on this aspect of the home.
